What To Expect For My First Appointment
New clients are asked to fill out a questionnaire covering their specific complaint(s), general medical and health information, personal and family health history and general background material.
The initial consultation typically lasts two hours; it is an opportunity for the client to discuss their physical, emotional or mental challenges. Two hours devoted to YOU!
Once the homeopath understands the unique characteristics of the individual, a remedy is recommended that will act as a catalyst to stimulate the immune system or the body’s healing capabilities. The remedy itself does not heal, but enables the body to heal itself.
Two brief follow up phone calls and/or emails are included in the initial consultation fee. The first of which usually takes place one week after taking the remedy and the second, a week or two after that. A more in depth follow up should occur in person or via video chat 6-8 weeks later. These follow ups give both the client and the homeopath the opportunity to discuss the overall progress and make any necessary changes. These follow up appointments typically last between half hour to one hour.
Storing Homeopathic Remedies
Store them in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight and away from strong smelling substances like spices, eucalyptus or aromatherapy oils. Also keep them away from electronic devices of any kind and microwaves. A sock drawer is a great place!!

Directions for Water Administration of a Homeopathic Remedy:
Take the remedy at a time of day that is convenient to remember and that is opposite (i.e.,day/night) to the time you take any other meds. You will need a clean glass, teaspoon and distilled or spring water. Pour 2” of water into the glass. No food, drink or teeth brushing for 20 minutes before or after taking the remedy. Water is fine. Do not touch the remedy with your fingers. Tap out 2-3 pellets from the bottle into the cap of the bottle. Drop the pellets into the glass of water. Allow to dissolve about 15 minutes. For the first dose, just take one teaspoon of the solution by mouth. Try to hold it in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing. If multiple doses are recommended, cover the solution with plastic wrap and store away as directed above. Each successive dose will require 5-10 brisk stirs with the teaspoon before taking a teaspoonful by mouth. This solution will last about one week.
Directions for LM Administration of a Homeopathic Remedy
You will need a gallon of distilled water, a glass measuring cup, ½ teaspoon and a teaspoon all which you should set aside and use solely for taking the remedy. Put them through the dishwasher or sterilize before the first dose. After each dose just rinse them thoroughly. Store the spoons, the remedy and the measuring cup in a ziplock bag away from the microwave, computer, phones (cell and cordless) and direct sunlight. This way if you have to travel, they’re all together and the ziplock keeps any dust, etc away from the cup and spoons.
Your remedy will arrive in what I refer to as the “stock bottle”. Please don’t eat or drink anything or brush your teeth for 20 minutes before or after taking the remedy. Choose a time of the day that’s convenient for you, and make that your regular time to take the remedy.
Fill the measuring cup with 2 oz of distilled water. Take one ½ teaspoon of the stock solution and put it into the measuring cup, too. Stir briskly with the teaspoon 4-5 times and take one teaspoon of this solution in your mouth. Try to hold the solution in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing it. Discard the extra solution in the measuring cup. Rinse and dry the cup and spoons and store away for the next use.
To start, take just one dose and check in with me after 3 days via email or phone. Please email me to let me know the date of the first dose so it can be noted in the file. After the check in, I’ll let you know how often to take the remedy. Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions you may have. It sounds confusing at first, but after a couple of times, it becomes second nature.
Sometimes directions will include succussions. To succuss means to bang the bottom of the stock bottle against the palm of your hand, on your thigh or even on the counter the designated number of times. This is another means to add energy to the remedy and actually changes the potency and the way your body receives the remedy. Stirring is another way to succuss when banging isn’t possible. Succussions are cumulative, so when the stock bottle is finished, bring the new stock bottle up to the last number of succussions before it ran out. This is easy to track. Just multiply the number of days you took the remedy by the number of succussions for each day. You can always add a few extra succussions to compensate for any possible errors.
Example: The first stock bottle lasted for 7 days. You succussed the bottle 5 times on each day. For the new bottle, succuss it 35 times to bring it up to the same level as the first bottle before you take any subsequent doses.
